Ask HN: What questions do you have about Generative AI?
I am writing a book on Generative AI. What questions do you have? Is generative A.I. helping you write your book? Not really. I don’t like the output of GPT-based LLMs. The output sounds too flat. It puts me to sleep. So it will likely have the same effect on the readers. I find LLMs useful for research. If I want to understand a new term or a new area, asking the LLM a few questions is a quick way of getting a broad overview. Frequently specific details are incorrect but I still get a decent overview. Sometimes I ask it to summarize popular books. In the past I would skim through the reviews on Amazon or skim through the table of contents. The LLM’s summary of the book gives me a quick idea of what it is about and if it is worth investigating further.
