Happy 5th Birthday, SerenityOS
serenityos.orgA very impressive achievement, and it's great to see how the people inspired by this project are making contributions everywhere.
I sometimes wonder if a hypothetical future would see me using serenity as my daily driver, but the project description mainly lists 90s look and feel as the main difference from other unixlikes. Does anyone with more knowledge of the project know of any other goodies either current or planned that might tempt someone to use it over other operating systems?
Serenity's purpose is more the other way around: what goodies can attract people to hack on Serenity? I.e. it exists first to be a place to develop things from scratch with a great community for the sake of hacking together something. Anything else is more a side-effect. That's why e.g. they don't publish releases, it'd achieve the opposite of that goal.
This is very impressive! I'd love to hear if people are using this as their daily OS
Congrats, Andreas and team! :D
