Ask HN: Paid for X Premium and still no access
It is the oddest thing, and I wonder if others have encountered this issue. I paid for X premium on Sept 7 and still have no access to the features or blue checkmark. I have opened several tickets with X support and I get the same canned replies, "Thanks for reaching out about the missing blue features. We are aware of this issue and understand how frustrating this might be. Our team is working to resolve this." but the tickets never stay open. There is no way to get my money back, as I understand it. Anyone else had a similar issue or suggest a way to get this moving? Considering Elon fired as many people as he could, it's no surprise something is fundamentally broken and they haven't figured out how to fix it yet. Sucks it ate your money. Many features broken now on X mobile app. Few weeks ago they remove swipe right to jump to the next video. Now they bring it back but you need swipe twice to jump to the next video, really annoying. Also timeline refresh randomly, the tweets I read gone before I finish read it. Be forewarned doing a chargeback forever precludes Elon replying to one of your tweets with “concerning” or “interesting” X is running on Full-Self-Driving mode now. Lol. I chuckled at this. You could initiate a chargeback with your card issuer or bank for non-delivery of services paid for. Like you're going to do a chargeback for "X premium", oldest trick in the book ... Why not? The money will be refunded, it'll cost X significant effort and fees, and the bank / scheme starts to accrue black marks against X. Even Musk probably doesn't want to start receiving snippy letters from the major card schemes... Because it's "X premium". The oldest trick in the book is to advertise an "Anal ticker, send cheque for £10 payable to Personal Services Ltd." in a porn magazine, cash the cheque then send a cheque for £10 back on the account "Anal Ticklers Ltd", sorry we ran out. No-one cashes the cheque out of embarrassment. It’s not 1960 any more lol I have same issue as yours, but I only paid them several days ago, the website writes wait till 30 days, so I guess maybe give it some more time to see? I dunno, no I am a bit nervous since you post this.... Why would you think that paying the CEO man child will get you what he promised? Has he paid the rent X owes? The severance? You know how sometimes someone will say “awe, pay me back later, I know you’re good for it.” Whatever the opposite of that is called is what’s going on here. He’s not good for it. lying. it is called lying. Elon is a liar. I wanted access to tweetdeck hence why I paid. lol why would you pay for such a thing unless--maybe--you're a journalist, in which case fair useful if you have a brand or promote your videos/newsletter/projects Yeah, unfortunately nothing has displaced it yet. I think/hope whatever does will not merely be a clone, like Threads. lol
