Replacing Autokey on Wayland

You know, I had a real use case at work for autokey-style keyboard macros; in fact they were nearly mandatory because I'd need to fire them off in realtime.

I tried the built-in facility in KDE, and it must have been bugged, because it never worked. At all. I never found any way to accomplish what I wanted. Now I'm on ChromeOS, and I'm fairly certain there's no way.
