Ask HN: What are the benchmarks in your domain that is worthy of beating?
For example in image processing people optimize for FID score on ImageNet, CelebFaces and so on. Likewise what are some good benchmarks for different fields?
Also what does beating these benchmarks imply? Will it guarantee an immediate hire or will it make someone "glorified"?
