GDPR made some Danish companies and many German companies migrate away from American cloud providers. At least in Germany it feels like GDPR has (mistakenly?) been reduced to "don't trust Americans with your data". I think that is a good thing. However I would restrict it even further and only allow data to be stored in some Western European countries like Denmark and Germany because who in the right mind would trust Hungary with their data despite Hungary being an EU member.
