How to find all web sites with maps that use the OSM tiles?
I would like to get a list of web sites containing maps, that use tiles, served by the openstreetmap (*.tile.openstreetmap.org). I want to get a list of sites that do not show a proper attribution, which is required by the OSM license.
I suspect I will need to build a web scraper and configure a web bot to crawl the web as Google / Microsoft standard offerings do not seem to support this use case(?). What is the best tool/service/approach to do this? https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Lacking_proper_attributi... is kind of related But it is built completely manually You could start with https://planet.openstreetmap.org/tile_logs/ Thanks for the link. In the first 10 ones I already found a couple of offenders. Oh, that is quite interesting idea that I missed so far. In case that you would go through them and manage to identify problematic cases: can you share list? Either here, contact me somehow or even add cases to https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Lacking_proper_attributi... listing? I believe the way the OSM community goes about "enforcing" the license is lacking on many fronts, which I suspect is a sentiment shared by many (but not most) mappers. I have a proposal for addressing the problem a part of which is mass identification of the users of the tiles and the offenders, but also introduction of a (hopefully) community-acceptable way to enFORCE the license. As a first step I wanted to get at least rough numbers about the scale of the offenses. I will present the proposal either on the legal talk list or write a blog post. > I believe the way the OSM community goes about "enforcing" the license is lacking on many fronts Main of them is that it is barely happening. I've sent https://news.ycombinator.com/user?id=matkoniecz, who is on the OSMF board with me and likes to work on attribution cases, a link to this thread. Feel free to post the offenders you've identified here for discussion. thank you
