There are so many naysayers out there, but you have to admire the amount of free publicity he has generated.

I assume that many of the stunts are exactly to try to keep awareness and undo some of the other brand damage.

This used to be a popular theory when Trump did something stupid every single day.

Don't be distracted people warned, this is just him trying to cover up for the stupid thing he did yesterday.

Eventually people realised he had no plan and no filter and no consequences so the stupid was never going to stop.

    > One common claim about Donald Trump is that he often says and does things not only for effect, but with the specific goal of distracting the public and news media from something else he wants to keep hidden. The claims have circulated for years, especially on social media; for example one Facebook post recently stated that “Trump’s quixotic attacks on immigrant children, Denmark, and American Jews are horrible, but even though we can’t ignore them, they are obviously meant to distract.”

Interestingly, people also believe both Trump and Musk are playing some kind of 5D chess mere mortals just can't comprehend. And supposedly, both Trump and Musk's staff (outside of Twitter) had systems in place to keep the king's madness in check.

At least people stopped saying that about Trump - I wonder how long it will take Musk's sycophants to realize he's not the genius they think he is.

For the past year and half or so, Elon Musk has always acted up whenever he dropped out of the news cycle.

Twitter is still alive? Millions of active Twitter users assured me it'd be dead by now.

Musk/Twitter and Trump are the go-tos for pageviews. It's pitiful how some of the "articles" sites like the Verge cobble together are outdated by the time they reach the promotional cycle, because Musk did a sharp U-turn on whatever decision they're reporting on.
