For example - some of Google's acquisitions are shut down, but were demonstrably good.
Do new competitors get bought and shut down also? It’s been happening for decades. It was hard for me to accept the fact that big companies will hire promising startups just to keep the employees away from their competitors. I imagine current economic circumstances have curtailed this behavior somewhat. All the time.
