This seem to be just one maintainer but it does point out an interesting problem. If politics are allowed to interfere with Open Source then which and who's politics? Is Linux suddenly American? Clearly not, but why listen to US sanctions then and not Russian or Chinese? Do every maintainer then follow their home countries politics?

If this spreads I won't feel inclined to roll out any Linux systems again. Especially if the politics followed are the US' as that is absolutely not a country that can claim any moral high ground, even over Russia. I too support Ukraine but I support Palestine even more and equal rights for China as for the US too.

    I hope that it doesn't get like that with operation systems like openBSD, that I use on my laptop and servers! :)
