The working from home illusion fades
economist.comI thought this was a pretty fair assessment of where remote work is at.
I think remote work is forcing the market to really reveal all of our incentives - as workers, as employers, etc - and to attempt to design a working system that best meets everyone's needs.
I think that when the market shifts to be less employee friendly, WFH will go down. When it shifts to be a hiring bonanza (as it was over the past couple of years) WFH will go up.
Oh so that is why Fortune 500 companies are scaling back their real estate outlays- because wfh is just an illusion.
