Free isn’t Cheap Enough (2018)
palmerluckey.comI thought this was an interesting blog post from Palmer Lucky (founder of Oculus) about VR in light of the recent Apple Vision Pro announcement.
It's worse than that. To be commercially viable it has to find some special market, but it's hard to be good enough even for that.
It is AR, but look at the failure of Hololens 2. The US Army wanted to buy one for each soldier but they found out that a soldier couldn't wear it and fire a rifle the way you're supposed to fire it in the Army and they're not about to change how they fire a rifle.
