Show HN: Daily octopus facts – a simple low tech project
tentacles.loveI'm excited to share a recent project, tentacles.love, a simple low-tech website that presents a new fact about octopuses every day. My fascination with these intelligent creatures inspired me to create a website where people can learn something new about them every day.
The technology and design of the website are straightforward and minimalistic, as I wanted to keep things as simple as possible. Every day at 00:00 UTC, a script updates the website's HTML with a random octopus fact. This script is triggered daily via crontab. Simple :) This would be perfect if there was an RSS link... for, I too, welcome our 8-tentacled overlords. I have to apologise, it seems a bug snuck in and duplicate facts might pop up on occasion. I will fix it ASAP :) I have added an RSS feed if you're still interested in that :)
