> May Invidious live and prosper, with, or without us,” the team conclude.

This is a nice sentiment, but AFAIK services like invidious need dedicated devs to keep up with YouTube changes. It won't just keep working without major updates, especially if Google is trying to sabotage it.

“Orders,” or asks? I am unsure whether or not a private company's lawyers can “order” anything to anyone, especially outside their platform, or not hired by them.

When corporate lawyers are involved, any "ask" should be interpreted to be an order with deliberate threat of major economical repercussions on the side should you fail to comply with the request.

"Invidious does not use YouTube’s API, and as a result, the project’s developers never agreed to any associated terms of service. "

If the developers never agreed to any TOS why would they be subject to the terms they have stated in the order? How are they allowed to order them in the first place.

It is open source, my hope is someone will fork the project and continue on it's own.
