Ask HN: How hard is it to raise 1M USD?
Hello HN, I'm posing this question as I've been thinking of how to approach fundraising and so on.
I'm thinking of opening my own startup, and one of the biggest barriers I have is finding the company's paid-up capital (1M USD) due to regulatory compliance in the country that I want to bootstrap it.
What kind of stage should I be in to try and raise this amount? I won't be able to deploy the product unless I clear the regulatory hurdle.
What kind of advice/wisdom do you have for me? Fundraising is 90% who you know. Start knowing people and it's easy. Try cold-raising and you're going to have a rough time without crazy traction. Yeah, make sense
