Personally I think these kind of impersonal hiring tools naturally lead to "cheating" by using chatgpt or whatever. If a company wants to screen people without investing any time, it's a logical reaction for candidates that are up for that sort of thing to also invest the bare minimum into getting screened in.

I get it that it's an economic choice companies make, but things like chatgpt level the playing field for candidates who are expected to jump through hoops without any reciprocity from the hiring company.

Personally I wouldn't hire anyone who I found was cheating in an interview, but I would also never consider interviewing at a place that make me do an automated test.

I feel like this is the only thing that really makes sense in an interview, in a world with GPT.

Automated and impersonal assessment will be met with automated and impersonal submissions. Simple as.
