Meh, this has been going on for years and doesn't mean much. Many accounts get shadowbanned and then unbanned a week later later with no explanation. Eg here's the same thing happening to EEVblog, a large and fairly uncontroversial EE youtuber: https://twitter.com/eevblog/status/1376418545752436740?lang=...
Sure, but these oddities put a whole new twist to the arguments that social media algorithms primarily optimize "engagement".

After fostering an active relationship with federal and intelligence agencies, I highly doubt Twitter, even post buyout, would slight a ""citizen"" journalism outlet funded by them.
