TRAPPIST-1e – exoplanet orbiting the habitable zone with atmosphere

TRAPPIST-1e is considered to be one of the most promising candidates for habitability among the TRAPPIST-1 planets, but it is still unknown whether it has an atmosphere or any liquid water on its surface.

It is my understanding that our solar system contains heavier elements necessary for life due to a super nova deposing those elements. Is this considered common for solar systems?
