Quickly make a card, copy the link and send it to someone who deserves it.
It's fun and there's lots you can say with it.
I built it built in 100% handcrafted in Vanilla HTML, CSS and JS. No frameworks, no BS.
Fonts are provided by Google Fonts. Image generation thanks to html2canvas. No-tracking analytics by Matomo.
It started as a weekend project to train my JS skills. I'd love to know your thoughts. On mobile Firefox, the app captures the gesture to go back to the prior page, so I couldn't come back to here until I typed in the URL box to navigate to Hacker News Same on Android Chrome. Fun app. You can have that cool go back functionality without actually preventing people from going back. This site is an example. Choose another question a few times then click the back button. Thank you, I honestly having noticed the hijacking of the back button. I'd like to apologize to everyone for it. I'll fix it ASAP. Thanks for all the good feedback Same thing on my mobile Firefox. I actually went back dozen times, thinking to myself "did I really make this many fuck cards?" before realizing what's happening. If you're gonna hijack the back button for the purpose of your app, folks, at least make it eventually go to the previous page. Don't make it circular. Sorry that my only comment is a criticism, I guess being a SW engineer turned me oversensitive to bugs/unexpected behavior. Or, in the spirit of the site itself... they can fuck the fuck off. Not sure if it's lazy or hostile but it ensures I won't visit again. I try my best to not assume malice unless evident beyond reasonable doubt. Far more evil comes from misunderstanding or just plain old ignorance (not in a deragoratory way - we all learn new things every day). So in practice, it's a useful heuristic. That's exactly it. Dumb mistake from my Javascript n00b skills. I'll fix it ASAP Same here on desktop Safari. If there's one thing I can't stand is hijacking of the back button. I'm not sure about Firefox but on other browsers you can hold the back button to see your history - then you can navigate back to HN (or wherever) from there. My bad, I didn't even realized I was hijacking the back button. It should be fixed now. Thanks for all the comments! Something goes wonky when creating the card. The card is flipped with the result but the inputs are visible on the "other side" of the card[0]. On latest version of Firefox. Also it was a little confusing selecting words. I thought you only select one top word and one bottom word. Didn't realize you should select more than one for it to make sense. It's resolved now. I had a similar bug to what you describe on older versions of Safari. I'll test on Firefox to see what might be going on with the backface visibility. Once again, thanks a lot I don’t understand the concept and the music embarrassed me at work I mean, autoplaying music is annoying, but I feel like if you clicked on a website called “The Fuck Cards” at work that’s kind of on you :) Whoops! Sorry for the music! That's a little easter egg. It's the intro music for my podcast called Oh Fork it! I made a special little easter egg for our fans if they want to create "fork" cards Shouldn't it say "The Fuck" in many of these cases? "Fuck off" is ok but "Get fuck off" is weird. You can tick multiple boxes, so you can tick both “Get” and “the” You can tick multiple boxes, make the message however you want Is there no class and dignity anywhere anymore? WHAT THE OH GO FUCK NO YOURSELF SHIT !!! --- Having the back button taken over so it only flips the card and doesn't let you actually go back to where you were linked from is cool for two flips, then irritating. Solved! thanks for letting me know 10/10 keep this trash off the home page.
