How Can I Future-Proof My Career As A Software Engineer
github.comMaybe learn to write coherent, precisely-expressed, internally-consistent requirements ?
It's not secret that ChatGPT has passed a coding interview that's DSA related. What's going to happen to our careers as new software development tools that are AI powered are emerging everyday?
Ours careers will change.
Nobody is eliminating software engineers for quite a while yet though. The _vast_ majority of the job is not writing code, it's communicating with other people and figuring out what in the hell the code should actually do.
Precisely this. AI cannot do this at this point... I don't think it's very close to being able to do this. We're decades away from AI being able to reason about people's requirements and translating that to advanced implementations.
This just shows how worthless interviews doing these kinds of code tests are
There must be skills from current developers that will still be relevant if AI can code better than us
How are you coal-shoveling skills?
Emphasize the “engineer” part, and you should be just fine.
