Ask HN: Online Banking in Europe Without Smartphone

I am a bit troubled. I want to get rid of my smarthpone. But the banks i am using only offer the TAN generation via Apps. I can't even make a wire transfer from my computer without the app on my smartphone.
I am thinking about trying to build a relay service with an emulated android device or so that will read out that tan & send it me via SMS. I know this would probably require a lot of effort for this small task, but i don't see my bank or another bank switching back to SMS.
Or what else could i do? what would you do? Italy here. At least 2/3 major banks still allow full use of online banking from desktop computers, and at least in one case I know for sure it's 100% Linux compatible. You ALSO need the hardware thingy that generates new numeric codes every time you push its button, to get an authorization code to e.g. make payments. But no smartphone Spain here. As far as I know, Bankinter can be used without a smartphone and you only need an SMS-capable phone for some specific operations but not a browser in your phone. I know because I am a customer but not affiliated in any other way.
