Digital identity: Web Key Directory as a possible solution

I see a main problem here. I wouldn't ever want such an ID and the risk outweigh the benefits. Anonymity serves us far better. It is a solution to a problem while creating even more and more significant problems. Maybe less significant for lawyers, but certainly for the average person.

Step two is that services would be required to demand your unique ID for something trivial as age verification. I am not supporting our political executives here. As long as this gets rejected like the old eIDAS, I don't see this getting anywhere.

The trust not to abuse such ID systems is just not there. That wound is self-inflicted and should not be forgotten.
