Local-First Web Development

Yonz- here, one of the people helping to gather and connect Local-First builders.

Today's internet is broken due to the fragmented and siloed nature of products. Once you see that user owned data is the solution you can not unsee it.

My journey started with the https://www.inkandswitch.com/local-first/ that caused a stir on HN https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19804478. With https://lfw.dev we are making it easy for others to learn about, discover and build the Local-First world.

I do wish more big products made use of existing local functionality the web has today. The only major player I can think of is Twitter and they don't store data, only UI so you can click around but can't actually read cached tweets.
