This feels so familiar to me. I've been working on projects like these for a decade now. Every time, the infrastructure and applications get rebuilt by people. Thousands of hours are spent doing this work by well-meaning volunteers. I don't understand why though. These sorts of products exist in the world already. We have mapping tools from HotOSM, we have NeedList. I ultimately wonder what social good comes of these tools existing in disasters.
