Ask HN: Academic paper everybody should read?
Years back, when I had a week of free time between jobs, I read Ulrich Drepper's "What Every Programmer Should Know About Memory". I still reap the benefits to this day.
I'll have some time in the near future (about 2 weeks), and would like to again dedicate it to reading something of that calibre.
Any suggestions? The first section I looked in, "combinatory_logic", had one paper related to combinatory logic, and a Knuth paper on combinatorics. Different subject altogether. I hope the categorization is generally more accurate.
