Ask HN: Can you recommend any resources for staff engineer starting management?
Hi HN,
I've been been steered towards line managing the small team of which I've been the tech-lead for some time as a staff level software engineer in a medium sized Org. I'll also still be an individual contributor.
I'm ambivalent about it but I want give it the attention and preparation it deserves.
What book/blog resources about making this transition (or any anti-patterns to watch out for) would you recommend to read? I feel support from the Org but had no training. art/information using/structuring 1 on 1's can help. Note: that's onboarding both teams & management on 1-1's.
