What I dislike about the study is that it does control for the cause of meal skipping: On one side meal skipping as a dietary measure and on the other side meal skipping due to unhealthy circumstances (stress, poverty, substance abuse, etc.).

As such I consider the numbers not significant in relation to IF.

As usual, changes to behavior that have benefits also have downsides. See also: wine, exercise.
