isn't it more like "NIH" syndrome? you still get to keep your cake and eat it too with kotlin.
Kotlin also wasn’t invented at Google.
Maybe "not invented at oracle" then?
I have no actual knowledge, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the strategy for Android and then people just realized that Kotlin had productivity and correctness benefits so they decided to support it for server development too.
