Ask HN: Are you using AR/VR-Headsets for productivity?
Meta just unveiled their new Quest Pro headset. I am curious whether any of you are actually using AR/VR-Headsets on a regular basis for productive tasks.
Please share your use-case and how switching to this platform did (or perhaps didn't) improve your productivity and overall work experience. Reminds me of that Twitter thread of a Waymo employee who explained why some of Google's products failed. It's because of glaring issues that the company and team ignored. In this case, one of the most glaring issues is: It's less efficient to use a VR headset for the vast majority of work. It's useless until it isn't I suppose. Like a phone is better for notifications than a pc or laptop when away from home. Nreal air AR glasses are seeming more useful and affordable ($380) for a multi-desktop experience. I am not keen on spending $1500 for the pro... probably going to wait until the resolution is better and other improvements. Here's a review of Nreal, on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj8hMtWeTUg Nice try Zuckerberg Got me ^^ Not yet, but I work as an SE and ordered a Simula One that I'm looking forward to using full time.
