Ask HN: Async online book clubs focused on software/technical books?
I'm reading An Elegant Puzzle and want to discuss it with others who are reading it. I found https://onlinebookclub.org but after searching their forums for several well-known technical books (Mythical Man-Month, Elegant Puzzle, Phoenix Project, etc) I found no results.
I do not want something synchronous where everyone reads the same book at the same time, such as https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/131006-tech-book-club.
Does such a thing exist? Sounds like a good idea. I would like to join in as well.
My expectations from it would be something like having discussion topics around each chapter(one channel / topic) and people who are interested in discussing it would gather there and talk to each other. Come to think of it, books themselves have forums which are moderated by authors and their teams. Maybe that is something that you are looking for? What are your expectations from it? > books themselves have forums which are moderated by authors and their teams I have rarely found that to be the case with books I want to discuss with others. When it exists though, this would be a good solution. > What are your expectations from it? Today I just want to ask a few questions about An Elegant Puzzle. That could use a common forum website setup. I suppose it could get fancier but I think a forum organized by topic, subtopic, then book would suffice?
