hadn't really heard of 'universal design' before, but sounds about right.

i do always cringe a bit when i see so much justification for infrastructure design being pinned on 'environmentalism' -- as if that's the only reason, or even the primary reason, why we should allow people to get around without state permission, without paying royalties to whoever, etc.

it's fine/good, given global warming circumstances, but what's wrong with something like.... "we are adding bike tracks so people can bike places if they want to -- because it feels fucking awesome, makes you healthier, builds exercise into your daily routine, increases personal joy, allows for more personal independence, and adds to city livability in myriad ways (if you live, which, if we implement these designs, you probably will)"?

eh.

cool graphics. wonder if it exists as an actual instantiated physical book.

Very Norwegian. Especially the emphasis on universal design
