Chess world rocked by rumours of anal beads and artificial intelligence
metro.co.ukIf you are a player with over 1000 rating, you don't even need the move to cheat at game.
All you need to know is when the crucial moment in the game appears then you can think of several lines of games from that point and you'll figure out the best move.
But spending that much effort on every move is mind numbing and exhaust you in no time
So a cheater only needs a signal to tell whether the current position is the decisive one in the game and then think very hard on this one before playing the best move.
So someone can run an engine and feed that as some signal to the player and then you win and win.
There is truth in this. That's why I can perform a lot better on puzzles, where it is known that there is a winning combination, so I can spend 15 minutes (or more) figuring it out. Can't spend that type of energy all game.
You’d have to be grandmaster-level for this to be true.
Where did the anal beads theory come from? Is there precedence for this?
I don't believe there's any evidence to the anal bead thing. It started as a joke tweet by Elon Musk.
It started as a joke not by Elon but by Eric Hansen.
