So it appears that it takes 2.5 years to accept the ineivitable conclusion to a really hard and/or painful problem.

      Or maybe, as the article suggests, the CDC is just slowly responding to the fact that most people don't care that much anymore, and haven't cared for some time.

      These kinds of takes are dumb and sophomoric, not smart or wise, and same goes for the poster to whom you are responding, who willfully ignores the vaccination and mutation that have occurred in the past 2.5 years to make the situation different.

        They lied to us and lost their basis for trust, totally screwed themselves

        If they change their recommendations based on the public being tired of it, then they would seem to be dysfunctional on both sides of the calamity
