I very much like the idea of cryptpad, especially the organization of multiple docs in folders, but to be fully useful in any org it needs a way to store files and documents of any type. Otherwise you'll need to juggle with multiple apps, and integration is not always the best.

Many orgs use Drive, the integration of Docs is a nice bonus but what matters is the storage of docs, images for projects, photos of events, ... I would love to switch some of those orgs away from Google, but there is no easy solution.

That's a very interesting comment, thank you.

You can actually upload images, photos & even videos to your CryptPad Drive. Just head to https://cryptpad.fr/drive/ and choose whatever file you want. :)

Oh wow. I was sure I couldn't do that last time I used it, and I didn't see it in the doc so I assumed it was still not possible.

Cryptpad is now much much better, and can even be a better bet than Nextcloud+something else. I'll dig deeper and see what I can do with it. Thanks !

You’re welcome! The documentation needs some work, it isn’t par with the latest CryptPad version. It’s entirely possible this information is missing!

TLDR; CryptPad is a 6 years old FOSS project developed by XWiki SAS, a french company who has been doing open-source for 17 years. It aims to replace proprietary, unencrypted services like Google Docs, etc. It runs directly in the browser and the code is licensed under AGPLv3.
