Forward SMS 2FA Codes to Slack
sms2slack.com"Our company used Twilio to receive and forward messages to our Slack in the past. Unfortunately, not all websites send messages to these phone numbers."
This right here is a deal-breaker. But this does remind me of a project I started at one time to make an Android app that reads SMS messages as they come in and then forwards them via Wire (or Telegram or Signal or MS Teams or Slack) allowing a "real" cell number to be used for SMS 2FA without the need to have that device in-hand at all times. The idea of sharing the SMS to Slack is another excellent idea; sharing it to a Signal/Wire/Telegram group for geo-distributed open source teams working on an idea or project would be good too.
Slack is mostly used as a placeholder in the name. It's trivial to change the code to send the webhook anywhere: https://github.com/teamniteo/sms2slack/blob/master/src/esp32...
Yes, but the limitation of Twillio VoIP numbers is a show-stopper. I can already auto-forward Twilio and Google Voice SMS messages to a team/distribution list. Getting real carrier-issued numbers to do this is the larger challenge.
Which is exactly what the device on the link does. It's using a real SIM card to receive 2FA codes and then forwards it to wherever you configure it to.
Respectfully, this point is not clear on your website -- I thought the reference to Twilio was that you are using them for getting a number. I'm more interested now.
That's great feedback, thanks!
