I bought iA writer in 2012 or 2013, and in 2016 they renamed the app to "Writer Classic", and built a new "iA writer" app, which I then was supposed to buy again.

At this point I decided that the company doesn't deserve my money, and I use other text editors now. It was quite good if you like minimalism, and (if the above hadn't happened) I'd recommend it.

Not for $50 though, that is a silly price for an iOS text editor.

(Edit: fixed typo)

Same situation here. Super frustrated with these apps that moves old purchased apps to “classic” and forces people to buy a new app. $50 is ridiculous.

    What are you using now?

This seems pretty steep for a Markdown editor. What advantages does this have over Obsidian?

I like the idea of iA Writer; I can't stand looking at their fonts. The only good thing about the price (minus the forced upgrade, which was before my time) is that it's single purchase, not a subscription.
