inc.comNot sure if I’m cynical or what but just couldn’t muster the desire to finish the article. I agree the ability to write and communicate is important but also feel it’s oversold and trite. I work with people who speak my native language as a second language - which is just to say life if generally more complicated than giving the advice of “focus on good communication”.
This feels like “in business” was omitted somewhere. If you look at things like physics, the quality of one’s ideas is paramount - nobody listens to a well-spoken, well-written crank. I know some of the bell labs people were outgoing and personable (Kernighan?) but were Ritchie or Thompson that way? And they did ok…
