Show HN: AccentQuest – get better at understanding Indian accents
accentquest.comWe need more of this and less of "Learn how to speak in an American accent in 2 months!"
As an Indian immigrant, immigrants speaking with a fake accent is the most depressing (and annoying) things I've seen. We have one of the largest English-speaking populations in the world.
(Fake Accent != People's accents changing over time, which has happened to me, or rolling their Rs sometimes for others to understand)

Honest question: why? The onus of work is still on someone.
Given that English is my second language, I think the onus is on me to learn the proper pronunciation and enunciation of words. I would not expect someone to learn to decipher my accent, and I'm not sure why this would preferred over the alternative to begin with.
Thanks for the review.

I agree. I think familiarity with the Indian accent will soon be seen as a major skill set. A skill set that people should maybe work on.
Wow this is fantastic! I hope you consider expanding to other accents.
Thanks for the review.

To be honest, I would not know where to start. Indian accents are both ubiquitous and somewhat hard to understand.
If you have a list of accents you have trouble with, please let me know.
Can....these be submitted to Mozilla voice model? That would make it so much better instantly
Thanks for the review.
I will check the Mozilla voice model site and their contribution options.
yeah, there is already a dearth of indian/hindustani accent in tech which is more of a problem in the FOSS world.
edit: this looks like a wonderful contribution if mozilla guys are willing to accept it
