What would you do to get a job in tech in a week/quickly? [pdf]
jamiecropley.aiWhat would you do to get a job in tech in a week/quickly? I set myself a challenge this week to get a job or at least an interview by the end of this week starting 9th of May 2022. So far its going badly as usual. I remember a time when I could literally get a new job within a week, it was very easy to do, I never worried about it too much after finishing university as perhaps in hindsight I was over confident in my approach. I have now been looking for work since August 2021. I honestly don't know what to do anymore other than endlessly fill in online application forms (I even tried to do freelance a bit and land contracts to be more flexible but am met with similar results) it is just at a point where it is getting hopeless, people talk of the tech industry like its breaking into the big screen in terms of acting or something. The thing is I would be willing to work in any tech job at the moment even IT support. I consider myself a good programmer etc... but I mean even when I try and narrow stuff down nothing new changes I am still stuck in the same situation. I thought maybe its a good question to ask here, for example if you were struggling and hypothetically you needed a job by the end of the week, you had 5 days to find a job no matter what, what would you do? I thought this would be a better question than asking over and over again what should I change in my CV / Resume and such because I feel like I am constantly doing this and nothing changes. So I thought its a better idea to ask more what would you do from scratch in this situation so to speak?
Please note I am based in the U.K. and not the USA.
Other points: - I linked my CV for reference on my background. - I am located in a small city in U.K. that has no local tech jobs but am willing to relocate or work remotely.
