Hey, I created this! Here to answer questions :)

I started hacking on this when I was blind-sided with an email from SO: "Notice: Discontinuing Stack Overflow Developer Story"! To be honest, I hadn't updated my story in a while, but I had put effort into it, and it was linked from a couple of places which I didn't want to suddenly go to a dead link.

The wild thing is the huge number of folks who are bummed this is going away (over 2,700 downvotes on their announcement post, plus over 100 upvotes on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30134135), yet SO are digging their heels in and are busy getting ready to scrub all the resumes/cv's from their site completely :(

What I ended up building (imaginatively called "Developer Story") comes with two options: download a JSON backup of your StackOverflow Developer Story, or re-publish it to developerstory.dev at a unique URL. Early feedback has been great so far, and a majority of people (but not all!) have re-published their story, and I'm proud to say they look great!

Here's my Story as an example: https://developerstory.dev/story/jesstelford

To see what you've currently got on StackOverflow, make sure you're logged in, then go to https://stackoverflow.com/users/story/current

I'd love feedback on the tool so far, and what you think I could add for the future?

Edit: formatting.
