If WordPress supports NFTs, should I boycott it?

NFTs are going to crash, much like tulip bulbs did in the Netherlands long ago, and people who get out in time will make money and those left holding the bag at the end will lose. But if in the meantime someone wants to play in that casino, I don't think that's a reason for a boycott (though it may be a reason to take care, if a company goes in so deep that it's a survival risk to them).

I never liked the idea of "X supports Y so I must boycott them". If you don't like NFTs then don't buy them. It shouldn't factor into your decision on whether or not to use WordPress.

I know I'm a weirdo but I just don't get the hand-wringing over stuff like this.

The idea is to starve the thing you don't like of money and to vote with your feet.

If you hate NFTs and enough people agree with you and all of you boycott WordPress, they'll drop NFTs. That's the point. It's both an ethical exercise and a type of activism.

Either way, you are free to dislike boycotts but most people think they're useful and libertarians keep telling us that they're an alternative to regulations.
