Show HN: I Created a Chrome Extension for PG: TRAB (Tweet Reporter and Blocker)
github.comA few days ago I saw this tweet from PG: https://twitter.com/paulg/status/1496549841912094733 ...and guessed it shouldn't be too hard to make a chrome extension to do this (I had never made a chrome extension before)
So I took a stab at it - took me a bit over a day to make it, and it was fun to put together.
I responded to his tweet with the link to the extension but I'm not sure if he would've seen it.
edit: Looks like I missed the approval notification for the listing of this extension on the chrome store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/trab-tweet-reporte... What does PG stand for in this context? I should've clarified. Paul Graham. He started ycombinator (his tweet is quoted on the GitHub page) Would you expand this to allow reporting of bots and manipulated accounts? I've seen a ton of false reports about the RU invasion of UA from recently-created accounts this week. I suppose bots can still be reported with this as spam When you report a tweet today, twitter only allows to report for these categories: https://imgur.com/a/uoS3dZe I'm not sure what category would apply to 'manipulated accounts' and how you would establish that. Objectively false information could probably be reported as 'misleading' I suppose? I'd be open to facilitating that if there's significant interest - might need to add a new button for that category. > might need to add a new button for that category. I see where this is headed :D Touché Very cool - also great Github page showing it in action. Thanks for doing this. Have you considered making it open source (FOSS)? Hey Henrik, the main link from this post is actually to the Github repo hosting the source for this extension. Is there more to making the source code public when you say making it open source/FOSS? Any Firefox alternatives? nice one!
