The Dumbing-Down of Programming

On reading this, it mostly talks about operating systems as way of analogy. It barely talks of programming at all. Best I can make of it is that anything that's not close to the metal is tame, weak, etc. Seems a pointless and antiquated view, and I don't only mean from friendly garbage collected languages, but also from sharper tools like ML-languages, Pony, what-have-you. This is the C is better than Rust camp of thinking.
