There are people with decades of experience growing cannabis, that know these things already. Those folks don't have degrees and are often shy of attention, tho. Hard for public institutions to attract and often not thew kind of people they want to employ. "Independent minded" might describe them; folks who're not highly motivated by the 9 to 5 office job.
