Ask HN: Do you like the hyper-minimalist blogs posted on this site?
I see a lot of blogs with the same brutalist aesthetics. I liked it at first but now it seems everyone is implementing similiar themes on their sites.
Now, I feel they could use some colors. They seem pretty boring. It’s better than being slammed with images ads popovers and cookie warnings I get your point.
But, there is a lot of middle ground.
Example:
This site https://kinduff.com has a good colorscheme while being minimal. I like websites that load fast, have no popups or misdirections I'm fine with it. I'm not fine with a surprising number of blogs being left-aligned and capped to a width of like 4 pixels on a 27" monitor. Yes I do, and I think it would be good for the web if more websites were designed according to a more minimalist approach: There are a lot of minimal websites with great content still up. I use above link while I have free time to find cool websites:) I find it humorous that the first website this link took me to was this: http://www.softpaw.org/fae2.html The design is, uh, certainly not minimal. Haha yeah
You can never know what you get. Wacky Windows Error Messages for me: http://toastytech.com/evil/errwindows.html "Internet Explorer has exploded in your living room." -- That assiduous Windows hatred of the 1990s, I find it funny in an oddball way in 2022, but does it actually make any sense at all to current 20-somethings? I'll take boring. Than to land on a blog, where I need to search for the content. Minimalist is much better on a mobile device. For a blog I think it works great. Having said that I don’t think that color is bad or not minimalist.
