Ask HN: Suggestion for Paid News Subscriptions

1 points by tesseract2 4 years ago · 2 comments · 1 min read

I am requesting suggestions for good quality paid news subscriptions that are easy to un-subscribe from.

I have heard that unsubscribing from NY Times and WSJ can be a pain because you have to call up a number to talk to someone about it, and evade any attempts they might make to lure you back in.

I am primarily interested in business/financial news. I looked at Bloomberg un-subscription process, and it seems they also require you to chat with the customer service about it.

Ideally I would like to subscribe (and unsubscribe) directly (i.e. not through, say, iTunes).

If you have any good experiences with unsubscribing at will, please share.

Use one of those apps (e.g Revolut, Monzo, Airwallex, Wise, etc) that makes a virtual debit card and use each with your subscription. When you want to unsubscribe, turn it off. Super easy.
