How to Download Everything Amazon Knows About You (It's a Lot)
lifehacker.com.. and keeps track of what you are reading from your public library. Up until a few years ago this info was considered private.
My library allows digital rentals. Because of the dominance of Kindle, this format is preferred. To download the book the site is linked to Amazon where the book is actually downloaded. Amazon knows every page you read, when you read it, and what other books you checked out.
Which is part of the reason I download .epubs from Overdrive (who then presumably knows at least what books I’ve checked out). That and I don’t have a Kindle, but a Kobo using KOReader and Plato (preferring the former for features over speed of opening books for the first time).
