This is cancel culture in action - powerful celebrity DEMANDS that an opinion he disagrees with is taken down, or else he'll throw a tantrum and nobody can listen to his music anymore. Really pathetic, and I'm glad I wasn't a Neil Young fan before this.

Yeah whether you agree with him or not, it's pretty screwed up to think that individual artists can try tp impose their views on a platform like this. I think they should drop him, however I suppose theres the concern of a big group of artists coming and protesting, which would be even more screwed up.

I guess I'm of the old school, but I like musicians because of there music, not because of their politics and not because I think they're good people. I don't care if a musician ends up being a creep or racist or something, I care about the songs. And by the same token, I don't want musicians imposing their values on me, I don't see them as people to look up to or something, I like the music.

Same goes for actors or athletes or whatever. I couldn't care less what Bono thinks of Africa or Leonardo DiCaprio thinks about chinooks. I wish we could be more rational about how we treat celebrities.

And as an addendum, the article makes me think less of Neil Young, but he's got some good songs, and I hadn't listened to him in years. I highly recommend "down by the river" - I love that kind of jam sound, and of course "southern man". Still available on spotify, I'm listening right now

On a global scale...in 2022...does Young still qualify as "powerful" and/or "celebrity"? As it is, Spotify is notorious for not paying well. Young is a non threat. Maybe others follow him, but again, his lack of current cultural juice makes that unlikely.

An artist should have control over their content. If they sign a deal to forfeit that control they should honor it. If they didn't and want to take their ball and go home that is their right.

BTW. There has been six Covid Doctors on Joe Rogan.

First one, Michael Mina, was proven 100% right. He suggested test-kits for free and voluntary self-isolation. American Government banned those tests and other countries followed suite.

But now Michael Mina protocol is the main policy in most countries.

Next step seems to be topical anti-viral drug upon detection, and with this some other Joe Rogan doctors will be rehabilitated.

President Biden just approved Michael Mina's suggestion of free DIY tests.

    Joe Rogan saved the world.

> “They can have [Joe] Rogan or Young. Not both.”

Only a Sith deals in absolutes! I demand small bits of Rogan or else declare Young a Sith. Mark these words.
