It is hard to be an investor and a doomer

No it's not. Ok, so you think the world is coming to an end any moment now. What do you do about investing? You let someone else invest it for you and open an investment account where you deposit a regular monthly amount into it that invests in an index fund. You never have to decide where your money goes. With an index fund you are basically betting that the market will survive at least until you need the money.

If things go well then the money will grow even if it's just to reflect inflation. If the world falls apart then it won't matter since money will have no value -- even if you have millions.
