Ask HN: Does anyone using GitHub projects feature?
I've worked with many teams for the past 15 years but never saw anyone using Github projects feature. Does anyone really using it? We are paying to other project/task management tools and really want to have them in one place but there are non-technical people in the team.
I can use both but it will be a challenging to use different tools for different teams and also I can't find a reason to use Github for managing projects. What type of companies use github and what are the benefits? I 100% do.. I love it..
I've used it on smaller teams, and even those who were "less technical" didn't have an issue.
Advantages, as I see it are that it's so seamless. PR's and branches are even more intuitive than Jira. It ties into the repo's wiki, perfectly too. IMHO the biggest draw is that it's such a simple system. There are no surprises in it. It never does anything un-expected. I didn't thought about its relation to wiki pages. that sounds really cool and yes my biggest interest is because it is inside Github, it must work seamlessly with own tools.
I avoid for years because it is as you said "simple" and might not have the features we use heavily like discussions and sub-issues etc...
